Help me out here..Why is the NCAA, NBA etc. involved in these matters?
The NCAA said it will no longer ban North Carolina from hosting future championships now that the state has partially repealed its "bathroom bill."
In a statement, the NCAA said on Tuesday that a majority of its board of governors "reluctantly voted to allow consideration" of cities in the state.
HB2 prevented cities in North Carolina from enacting non-discrimination policies based on gender identity. It also required people to use the public restroom that corresponds with the gender on their birth certificate.
The bill was repealed last week, but cities won’t be allowed to enact their own nondiscrimination policies until 2020.

Middle East pretty simple as Sophia explains on FB
Sophie Allen 2 mins ·
Now I understand the Middle East...We and the Russians are out to destroy ISIS...ISIS of course wants to destroy us..Syria wants to destroy ISIS along with the help of the Russians..The U.S. backed Rebels wants to destroy Syrian president Assad...Assad with the help of the Russians wish to destroy the Rebels which we support in their effort to remove Assad. Iran joins with Syria to defeat ISIS as well as the U.S. and Israel. Assad gasses the Rebels with chemical weapons he no longer has due to an agreement with President Obama..President Trump takes out the chemical weapons he no longer has last night. I'm starting to feel pretty good about this!

California Must Provide Trans Prisoners With Compression Underwear
A U.S. district judge last week ordered California state prison officials to provide free chest-flattening underwear, also known as compression tops, to transgender inmates at women's prisons and feminine accessories to transgender inmates at men's prisons.
Requiring inmates to buy compression tops "effectively" denies those items to individuals who cannot afford them, according to U.S. District Judge Jon Tigar, who issued the order on Friday. Taxpayers, therefore, must foot the bill.
The order came out of a lawsuit concerning whether transgender prisoners should have access to certain clothing and accessories that the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation argues could be altered as a disguise, aiding in escape attempts, the Associated Press reported.
Authorities fear inmates could alter items like nightgowns, robes, and scarves to look like street clothes and escape prison. Still, Tigar expanded the list of products prisoners could receive to include those items, among others.
As part of the order, men's prisons must provide bracelets, earrings, hair brushes, and hair clips for transgender inmates. One judge worried that some of the products posed safety risks to prisoners, but Tigar objected, arguing that items such as earrings and bracelets could be made from materials like rubber.
Shiloh Quine, a 57-year-old transgender inmate born as Rodney James Quine, brought the suit while serving a life sentence for murder, kidnapping, and robbery. Quine was born male and received a taxpayer-funded sex reassignment surgery in 2015, the Washington Free Beacon reported.
California was the first state to charge taxpayers for a transgender inmate's sex reassignment surgery.

Rogers, Gowdy the oddsmaker's favorites to be named President Trump's next FBI director
If you just can’t avoid all the political noise coming out of Washington, D.C., these days, then perhaps you can at least be entertained by it. That’s what the folks at BetOnline.com are thinking, as the website posted odds on who will be the next FBI director, in the acrimonious wake of President Donald Trump firing James Comey Tuesday.
Several news operations, including NBC and Bloomberg News, reported Thursday that Trump was considering Mike Rogers, the former Michigan Republican congressman who served in the House of Representatives from 2001-2015. That squared with BetOnline’s early odds of Rogers as the 5/1 co-favorite, along with current Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy.
Rogers makes sense as a betting favorite, as he was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and was an FBI agent.
Gowdy, a former federal prosecutor, would certainly draw support from red-meat Republicans for his role in multiple House hearings, most notably related to the investigation of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Gowdy chaired the Benghazi committee, which ultimately uncovered Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.
However, New York media outlets were also speculating on Ray Kelly as the next FBI director, and bettors at the offshore sportsbook – you can’t bet on such matters in Nevada sportsbooks – reacted swiftly. Kelly, whose resume includes 14 years as New York City’s police commissioner (1992-94, 2002-13), was on the rise in BetOnline’s odds, starting at 6/1 behind Rogers and Gowdy before moving into the favorite’s role at 9/2.
Andrew McCabe, now the acting FBI director, is also among those with the shortest odds, at 10/1.
BetOnline’s list also included a host of more well-known names, some serious contenders, others perhaps not so much. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was at 16/1, and Jared Kushner – Trump’s son-in-law – was at 14/1.
Among the longer and perhaps even outlandish shots: three of Trump’s children, with Ivanka and Donald Jr. both at 33/1 and Eric at 50/1. Former Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly (33/1); and actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (50/1).

2020 Presidential Election Odds
Bernie Sanders 20/1
The Vermont senator came close to upsetting Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. But in 2020, he'll be 79.
Hillary Clinton 20/1
After coming losing the Democratic nomination in 2008 to Obama and coming so close in 2016, does the former secretary of state have it in her to try again? She'll turn 73 in 2020, but Trump is eight months older.
Cory Booker 20/1
The New Jersey senator is a talented campaigner and speaker and one of the most prominent African-American Democrats. The New Jersey senator is also popular among his peers
Elizabeth Warren 14/1
The Massachusetts senator could pick up supporters of the Sanders movement. She has feuded with Trump, but also expressed a willingness to work with him on certain issues.
Michelle Obama 12/1
The First Lady is terrifically popular, but has said the job doesn’t interest her. That may change after a few years of Donald Trump.
Paul Ryan 10/1
The House Speaker is a star among traditional conservatives, but it will take a TV drama worth of surprises for him to somehow replace Trump as the presidential nominee, but that's true of every other Republican on this list, too.
Mike Pence 10/1
The vice president-elect would be the obvious candidate to replace Trump if Trump opts not to seek a second term.
Donald Trump 2/1
The president-elect will be the man to beat, assuming he seeks a second term. So far there's no reason to think he won't.

Unbelievable!!!
The University of California, Berkeley is offering enhanced security and counseling services to students for former Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro's speech on campus next week.
Berkeley has experienced violent protests at a slew of recent political and speaking events, prompting both city and university officials to take extra precaution.
Shapiro, a conservative political commentator who has spoken at UC Berkeley without incident before, responded on Twitter to the university offering counselors for those who could be potentially impacted by his appearance or speech.
Further down in the memo, Alivisatos says that campus officials "are deeply concerned about the impact some speakers may have on individuals’ sense of safety and belonging."

The very moment on thinks there can ever be more disgusting 24 hour news this pops up
McDonald's employee gives birth and tries to flush infant down toilet, D.A. says
A McDonald’s cashier is facing an attempted murder charge after giving birth to a boy while at work and then trying to flush the newborn down a toilet inside the Redwood City restaurant, prosecutors said.
Sarah Lockner was working as a cashier at the McDonald’s restaurant on Chestnut Street on the evening of Sept. 4 when she complained of stomach pain, according to the San Mateo County district attorney’s office.
During her night shift, prosecutors said, the 25-year-old Redwood City woman visited the restaurant’s bathroom multiple times, to the concern of a co-worker.
When the co-worker entered the bathroom to check on Lockner, prosecutors said, there was blood on the floor.
Lockner tried to dismiss the bloody mess and blamed it on a heavy period, prosecutors said.
But Lockner’s behavior had drawn the attention of a second co-worker, who also decided to check on her.
The second employee walked into the bathroom, peered over Lockner’s stall and “saw a newborn baby face down in toilet bowl,” prosecutors said.
Lockner had her hand on the baby’s back, according to the district attorney’s office. The employee then heard the toilet flush.
Lockner pleaded with her co-worker, asking her not to call police, prosecutors said.
Police arrived later to find the baby in Lockner’s arms, San Mateo County Dist. Atty. Steve Wagstaffe told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday.
The baby had no pulse and was not breathing, so officers performed CPR and rushed the infant to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, he said.
The infant is alive and in stable condition, but the extent of the baby’s brain injuries was not known, Wagstaffe said.
Lockner claimed she didn’t know she was pregnant, prosecutors said.
She has been charged with felony child abuse and inflicting great bodily injury, along with the attempted murder charge, prosecutors said.
Lockner is scheduled to be arraigned in San Mateo County court on Sept. 18. She is being held on $11 million bail.
