'Pirates visit Rangers'
Pittsburgh Pirates at Texas Rangers May 27, 8:05 EST
Texas Rangers host Pittsburgh Pirates at Globe Life Park in Arlington in the opener of a three game interleague set. According to opening odds the Rangers are -$1.45 to -$1.65 home favorites depending on locale with the total a consistent 9.0 runs across all shops.
Cole Hamels get the start for Texas. The lefthander carries a 5-0 record with a 2.83 ERA in his nine trips to the mound and is now 12-2 since joining Texas last August with Rangers 18-5 in his twenty-three starts. Hamels is 3-2 in nine career starts vs. the Bucs (5-4 TSR). Hamels trades pitches with lefty Jonathon Niese entering 4-2 on the campaign with a 4.75 ERA in nine starts with his new club. Niese is 1-0 in two career starts vs Rangers (2-0 TSR).
A key to baseball handicapping is the ability to unearth hidden gems among a sea of baseball betting tips. Those whose focus is baseball betting have certainly done the research and have come up with the fact Pirates have an 8-0 road streak vs A.L. West opponents including 3-0 vs Rangers. Additionally, Niese's teams (Pit/Mets) have thrived when he tosses on the road posting a sparkling 10-1 last eleven in hostile territory.
Taking an underdog is always a risky proposition, though in this case, the amount of supporting data in favor of Pirates makes it much less risky.
