'Strasburg aims for 11th win'
Chicago Cubs at Washington Nationals June 15, 4:10 EST
Washington and Chicago conclude their three-game set with both teams having notched one victory. Nationals count on Stephen Strasburg in rubber match while Cubs counter with Jason Hammel. Washington has opened -$1.40 home favorite with a 7.5 total at most shops.
To say Stephen Strasburg (10-0, 3.03 ERA) has been dominant this season would be an understatement. That dominance is reflected by the fact he's allowed two or fewer runs in eight of his thirteen starts with a 110-23 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Such success has not been limited to this season, the Nationals have emerged triumphant in sixteen of seventeen Strasburg starts with the hurler giving up two or fewer runs in twelve of the seventeen allowing an average 2.2 runs/game with a 154-27 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Matching those staggering numbers, Nationals are on a 13-1 stretch in front of the home audience with their righthander. Strasburg last faced Cubs in 2013 a team he hasn't been able to solve in three tries going 0-1 with Nats 2-1 in those games.
Jason Hammel carries a solid 7-2 mark, 2.36 ERA to the hill along with a 9-3 team starts record over twelve starts. If Hammel could face the Washington Nationals every time out, he'd be in the conversation for the National League Cy Young award along with Arrieta, Kershaw, Cueto, Strasburg. The veteran hurler is 9-0 life-time vs Washington with his teams 11-1 over twelve starts.
