'N.L. West rivals square off'
San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants September 13, 10:15 EST
San Francisco and San Diego play the second of a three game set at AT&T Park after Padres walked off 4-0 winners in the opener. According to current odds the Giants are -$1.50 favorites with the total set at 8 runs across all shops.
Albert Suarez will do Giants' bidding. The right-hander carries a 3-3 record, 4.37 ERA to the hill but enters 0-2 with a 5.02 ERA in his three starts since returning to the rotation. Suarez's only appearance vs Padres was in relief giving up two hits while walking three over 1 2/3 innings. Suarez trades pitches with Padres left-hander Clayton Richard. In five starts since joining the Padres rotation a month ago the southpaw has allowed just three earned runs in total and heads to the bump 2-0 in his last three trips to the mound with a miniscule 0.47 ERA.
Taking an underdog is always a risky proposition, though in this case, the fact Richard is in great form, Giants' 1-6 in their last seven vs. a portside starter makes it much less risky. Stick with Friars who have won last four in this series by a combines 20-10 margin.

If Toronto is to get it's offense back on track the 30 HR's allowed by Smyly may offer the opportunity...Stroman a bit disappointing also..Watching the total and game
