-- As mad as Rex Ryan had to be after he fell short yet again against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots on Monday night, it's safe to say the Buffalo Bills' coach was just as furious about helping out his old team in the process.
The Patriots' 17-10 win over the Bills created complete chaos in the AFC wild card race and dramatically improved the New York Jets' postseason hopes. With the loss, Buffalo fell to 5-5 and into a four-way tie for the second and final wild card spot along with the Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
The Chiefs technically rank sixth in the conference by virtue of their superior record (4-2) in AFC games, followed by the Texans (4-3 in the AFC) in seventh, the Bills (5-4 in the AFC) in eighth and the Jets (4-4 in the AFC) in ninth. The Jets' plight is additionally damaged by the head-to-head losses they have suffered against the Bills and Texans.
