Carolina Panthers Betting Analysis
The Panthers drafted QB Bryce Young with the first overall pick in the latest NFL draft, and immediately inserted him into an offensive unit completely devoid of weaponry, and in most cases, the line simply can’t block for him.
There’s no getting around it: this Panthers team is truly awful. But for the time being, we should probably pump the brakes on our criticism of Carolina’s rookie QB. He’s been placed in an impossible situation, and all things considered, I don’t think any of the rookie QBs from the latest draft class would look good in this broken Carolina offense. Just give it some time. Young will be fine.
Chicago Bears Betting Analysis
At this point, the Bears are playing for the future, already sitting at a record of 2-7, which puts them in position for the 3rd pick in the 2024 draft. However, to a certain extent, Chicago’s future is at stake in this matchup. Let’s take a trip back to the latest NFL draft, which saw the Panthers select Bryce Young with the first overall pick – a pick that originally belonged to a Bears team that finished with the worst record in the league at 3-14.
In order to acquire the Bears’ No. 1 overall selection, the Panthers sent DJ Moore to Chicago along with their first pick in the upcoming draft, which is currently positioned 2nd in next year’s draft order and sitting just half-a-game away from the top spot as we cross the halfway point of the season.
All that just to say, Chicago isn’t going to try to win many games the rest of the way. The tankathon has already begun for a Bears team that enters the week slated for two of the top three picks in next year’s draft. However, on this rare occasion, the Bears can briefly set aside their goals for the future and put the pedal to the metal against the previous owner of their additional first-round draft pick – which is another factor that seems to be swaying the opinions of spread bettors in this game. I hate to be the bearer of bad news though, the current iteration of this Chicago team is pretty bad even when they try to put their best foot forward.
Panthers vs Bears Betting Trends
The Panthers are 1-5 ATS in their last six games. The total has gone UNDER in six of Carolina's last nine games. The Bears are 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 games. The Panthers are 1-7 SU in their last eight games. The Panthers are 1-5 SU in their last six games against Chicago. The Panthers are 2-14 SU in their last 16 road games.
